Childrens Choirs at FMES
Meet our new director, Mandy Coffee!
Mandy Coffee has her masters degree in Music education with a proficiency in vocal performance and choral studies. She studied the body mapping method for the vocalist and Zolton Kodaly’s music education philosophy which emphasizes on cultural folk music play while teaching vocal skill and music content. She is a Music Specialist for the award winning David Douglas school district, and has worked with children's choirs teaching music and movement and musicianship classes for the past 15 years. Mandy has worked with professional youth choirs since 2006, and is passionate about the vision community choirs provide for families and the given community it serves. She has overseen choral tours, choir festivals and vocal workshops.
Mandy is thrilled to be collaborating with FMES in seeing the youth choirs provide developmental opportunities both educationally and vocally for each student!
