Office Manager Position
The utmost priority for anyone in this Office Manager position is caring for families, teachers, and partners by giving them the tools they need for success in pursuing music and dance.
That being said, Portland School of Music & Dance is looking for an Office Manager with who can assist creating policies and building a smooth business infrastructure whilst arranging schedules for both teachers and clients.
To organize and maintain a communications system and schedule that is functional and sustainable, even as the company grows. The Office Manager must represent a united front with all other staff and be able to keep a calm head on their shoulders when challenges arise. The ability to boost company morale, and maintain an air of authenticity and calmness are a huge plus. This person will be the face of the company, and will be present at all functions and day-to-day events, so their personal appearance and communication style must be in line with the core of the company. Having a personable, reliable, and willing character is a definite bonus. This person must also uphold all company policies and will be working directly with the school director, clients, and teachers/staff so good communication skills are necessary. The ability to multi-task, delegate, and discern are a not only helpful, but a requirement to be able to hold this position. This person will not be required to be on site every day, but will have a clear schedule regardless and would be helpful if available for emergencies.
- Experience as an office administrator or relevant role

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office or Pages, and Excel; familiarity with office management software or Squarespace is preferred.
- High school diploma
$13/hr and up, depending on experience. There is a chance that this position could expand to more hours. Typically, lessons are after school, between 3 - 6pm, Monday - Friday. This position would be a mix of meeting with families and working earlier in the day answering emails, phone calls, etc. Earlier hours can be done remotely, but 3pm and on will be at the NE Location: 120 NE Knott Street, Portland, OR 97212.
